And, may I say, Happy New Year!! Well, it’s actually January 2, but I think it still counts as a new year.
This year I am doing something different. I’ve started a blog. (Obviously) You might be wondering who I am and why I think I need a website. The answer is…I’m really no one, and I actually don’t need a website. I’m not really planning on anyone ever seeing this. The thought behind this blog is to keep an organized, digital journal. Do you remember Xanga? Probably not. I’m almost 40 (in a couple of months) and Xanga was the alternative to Myspace before it was the alternative to Facebook. I’m not even sure what the current platform is. Instagram? Maybe, but I don’t take that many pictures. I’m more of a talker. TikTok? Possibly, but I don’t video well. (I also have an addiction to that app and had to go cold turkey off of it.)
Mainly I want a space where I can journal about my areas of interest, think out loud, and have a record of my experiences. I’m not a very adventurous or exciting person. I don’t go on vacations. (I hate hotels.) I don’t have an exciting job. I’m not an expert at anything. I have no useful skills. If I were a flavor of ice cream I would be vanilla, not even French Vanilla, just plain store-brand vanilla.
Don’t get me wrong. I love vanilla. I love my boring, safe life. After all, life is what you make it, and I made this life on purpose. So, please join me if you would like. We can learn how to knit together. (I’m going to make myself step outside of my comfort zone and go to a knitting class on Wednesday. I’m actually quite nervous.) We can lift weights together in my garage. We can cook dinner together and plant a garden in the spring. I can tell you about how I homeschool my kids, and you can learn with me as I start tutoring on Class Dojo. It’ll be great!

I look forward to seeing all the things you make!
I’m going down to the yarn store today!
You are more than you realize. You are an amazing wife, mom, and my baby girl. Your heart is huge and you are always looking for new things. You are not boring, after all I’m the family couch potato, but that is about to change. On 1/11/25 I will be taking a class in charcoal stenciling, and then on 1/24/25 I will be taking a class in mosaic/stain glass art. My kids are an encouragement to me, to try new things. Let’s do 2025 together, having fun with new experiences.
I would LOVE that. We can compare notes on the different activities we try. I really want 2025 to be filled with new friends and fun! I’m excited for you to try these new hobbies and I can’t wait to hear all about them.
