Hello! My name is Melissa, and I am a wife and a mother. I assume there should be more descriptors listed after that comma, but I can’t think of any. That in itself is the main reason for starting this blogging project.
I am originally from Texas, but have lived in the rolling hills of Tennessee for almost 30 years. I met the love of my life in college, pursuing a degree in English. I have two amazing boys in their teens. They are the best people I know, and I adore them out loud, every day.
Professionally, I have done many things. I was the director of a preschool, a 4th grade teacher, a middle-school teacher, a co-business owner, a data analyst, and a tutor. Some of these things I am still doing, others not so much. I have a hard time staying still long enough to stick to something.
I have been homeschooling (remote schooling?) my boys for almost 4 years. We left the public school setting in 2021. We have tried a few different curriculums, but finally landed on one that works for us. We’re still trying to find our way in the co-op world, but I am sure we’ll get there.
That’s it. That’s me. I hope you stick around long enough to see this blog develop. (I hope I stick around long enough to see this blog develop.) I guess we will just have to take it one day at a time.
